The 7th Police District Advisory Council acts as a nonprofit organization. Absolutely no one is paid, not even our Board of Directors.
Every penny that we raise is used to support both the officers of the 7th Police District and the community.
We offer many programs in our community, both in schools as well as the community at large. We also sponsor programs for the officers of the 7th Police District, including our Police Officer of the Month and Year programs and appreciation events. In addition to our own programs, we often partner with other organizations to support their programs.
We are always looking for new ways to support our community. We rely on fundraising and occasional small grants to operate our organization. Although an official partner to the Philadelphia Police Department, we do not receive any funding from the Department. Any financial support you can offer will help us to continue to meet our mission of supporting both our police and our community.
We have a variety of ongoing expenses, such as storage fees, award plaques, web hosting, office supplies, promotional and crime prevention materials, etc.
We cover a variety of expenses, such as internet service at District Headquarters, that the Department does not pay for. We sponsor beautification projects such as a garden in front of the building with a custom banner. To combat the recent spike in auto thefts, we purchased 1000 faraday pouches to distribute to our community. These help prevent key fob signals from being intercepted. We sponsor programs aimed at improving quality of life in our community and promoting a police-community partnership, such as community workshops. We sponsor movie nights for children and a holiday party for disabled children.
We rely on the community for our support.
